Volunteering

Find Your Volunteer Niche at Central Coast Hospice

We are actively seeking compassionate volunteers to provide companionship, emotional support and respite care to our patients and families. Join us for specialized training to develop the skills to work with our Hospice patients and their families.

Volunteers in hospice find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives.

Hospice volunteers can help with a variety of duties that include:

  • Respite for caregivers: This allows time for the caregiver to take care of themselves.
  • Spending time with the hospice patient: Listening to the patient’s concerns; being a supportive comforting presence; holding a hand; engaging in a shared interest hobby; passing on valuable information to hospice team regarding visit with the patient.
  • Office Support: Mailings, photocopies, filing, and various other office duties.

Central Coast Hospice offers specialized training to develop the skills to become a hospice volunteer. Give the gift of time, energy, and skills that fill a unique role that only Hospice Volunteers can provide.

ARE THERE ANY PRE-REQUISITES FOR BECOMING A HOSPICE VOLUNTEER?
